Police Blotter

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

• Police said Anthony Joseph Riccio III, 22, of McAdoo, was arrested after an officer on foot patrol in the area of Midtown Village said he saw Riccio allegedly kick out a window at Park & Lock Central at 2:12 a.m. Sunday.

Riccio was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and public drunkenness, police said.

• Clerks at two Turkey Hill convenient stores were robbed early Sunday morning.

A clerk at the store at 632 Carey Ave. told police at 2:02 a.m. that a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a black zipper hoodie with white markings on the shoulder entered the store and demanded money.

The clerk said the suspect had his hand in his sleeve and stated, “Don’t make me shoot you.”

After the clerk handed the man money from the register, the thief demanded cash from under the counter. While the clerk was trying to comply, the man left and fled north on foot, police said.

Then, at 2:33 a.m., a clerk at the store at 170 Hazle Ave. told police two men came in and stole a carton of cigarettes, seven packs of cigars and a Twix candy bar.

William Reiser reported at 1:25 p.m. Friday that a man known to him removed his .22-caliber pistol from a Thompson Street home.

A man reported at 10:52 a.m. Saturday someone damaged his vehicle on Oak Street.

Raymond Delany, 31, of Avoca, was arrested on warrants for alleged possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on Friday, police said.

A man reported at 7:10 a.m. Saturday he was punched in the mouth by a man known to him only as “Booder” in the area of East Northampton and South Welles streets, police said.

William Thompson, 48, of Hazle Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arrested at Public Square and South Main Street at 11:25 a.m. Friday and cited with public drunkenness, police said.

Jason Pamphilis, 39, reported items were stolen from 114 Regent St. late Friday afternoon.

Elizabeth Amigon, 36, of Nicholson Street, reported at 1 a.m. Tuesday that her cell phone was stolen from a vehicle at 144 Academy St.

A man reported someone damaged his vehicle on Noble Lane at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Tracey Smith, 35, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested and cited with public drunkenness after she was observed visibly intoxicated on Public Square at 11:27 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police said someone distracted employees at a South Main Street business while another person took merchandise on Saturday afternoon.

An outdoor chimney was stolen from a residence belonging to 54-year-old Bruce Schnell at 18 Monroe St. on Friday afternoon.

Daniel Luciano, 48, reported Friday that his home at 113 Sambourne St. was damaged.

Mia Jones-Corley, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y., faces charges for allegedly failing to pay for a taxi fare in the area of East Northampton Street and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard on Wednesday.

• Greg Redington, of East South Street, Wilkes-Barre, told police at 9:45 a.m. Sunday that someone stole a bag of laundry from 155 E. Northampton St.

• Clinton Hassan, 25, of Sambourne Street, Wilkes-Barre, was located at North Pennsylvania Avenue and Union Street at 7:19 a.m. Sunday, arrested and charged with access device fraud, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance after his ex-girlfriend, Latisha Elam, also of Sambourne Street, told police that Hassan took her debit card and used it to withdraw money from her account, police said.
