Police Blotter

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following incidents:

Angelic Yard, of New Alexander Street, reported around 3 p.m. Thursday that she was struck in the face by a man known to her at 7 Puritan Lane.

John Fronczckiewicz, 20, of Hunlock Creek, was charged with indirect criminal contempt for allegedly making contact with a 17-year-old Wilkes-Barre girl in violation of a protection-from-abuse order at 15 N. Washington St. on Thursday.

Someone removed a Pennsylvania registration plate, DLJ 1135, from Lizette Barrager’s 1996 Honda while it was parked at 33 Nicholson St. on Thursday.

A GPS was removed from Raed Hamad’s 2001 Hyundai at 210 Barney St. on Tuesday.

Patricia Telfair reported at 4:02 a.m. Thursday that someone smashed the rear window on her 1998 Pontiac Bonneville at 71 Oak St.

Someone stole a dome light, iPod, GPS, two subwoofers, a speaker box, two amplifiers and an in-dash DVD receiver from Joshua Shallenberger’s 2002 Pontiac while it was parked at 138 Dana St. on Wednesday.

Meghan Jones, 26, of Wilkes-Barre, was issued public drunkenness and disorderly conduct citations on Hughes Street at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

A 17-year-old boy reported Frank Isaac Jr., 33, of Wilkes-Barre, allegedly struck him several times in the back of the head at 123 George Ave. around 11 p.m. Wednesday. A harassment citation was filed against Isaac.

NANTICOKE – A city man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend after she would not let him have a night out with his friends, police said.

Joshua I. Ruminski, 23, of 202 W. Noble St., was arraigned Thursday morning on single counts of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Nanticoke police alleged in arrest papers that Ruminski grabbed Ashley Cyron’s neck, tore her shirt during an argument and then kneed her in the ribs in a parking lot near Lincoln Avenue.

Officers spoke with Ruminski who told them he wanted to go out with his friends but Cyron wouldn’t let him, the criminal complaint states. Cyron told police that she wanted Ruminski to spend time with her and their toddler.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 1.

PLAINS TWP. – Three men from Wilkes-Barre were charged with selling heroin in a McDonald’s parking lot on River Street Thursday afternoon.

Rasheed Fields, 30, Troy Johnson, 46, and Alberta Pecorino, 54, were arrested around 3:20 p.m. for the alleged sale and manufacture of heroin, according to state police at Wyoming, Troop P, Vice/Narcotics Unit. Police said they seized 20 bags of suspected heroin at the scene.
