HANOVER TWP. – A man was flown to an area hospital after a construction accident on Penobscot Mountain on Wednesday morning, township police said.

Police said the man was walking alongside a flatbed trailer being pulled by a truck tractor when a forklift became detached and fell on him at about 10:30 a.m.

The man is employed by Tower King II Inc., of Texas, police said.

His name wasn’t released.

Police said a piece of equipment was being transported to the top of Penobscot Mountain by Ayers Towing Service, of Mountain Top, for Tower King II Inc.

A truck hauling a flatbed trailer became stuck in mud and a bulldozer was used to assist, police said.

The federal Occupational, Safety and Health Administration office in Wilkes-Barre was notified of the incident.

WRIGHT TWP. -- A man was charged Tuesday with threatening to kill his wife and two daughters and with firing a gun in their Church Road home during a domestic dispute, township police said.

James Warren, 45, was charged with three counts of harassment, two counts of simple assault and one count each of terroristic threats, discharge of firearm into an occupied structure and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge Ronald Swank in Wright Township and released after posting $7,500 bail.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Wright Township police:

Police said they responded to the Church Road residence just after 8 p.m. Monday and learned Warren threatened to kill his wife and their two daughters during a dispute. Police said in the criminal complaint that Warren pushed his wife and grabbed a gun telling her, “Let’s do it baby, let’s end it all.”

Warren’s wife left the home and he threatened to kill his daughters if they didn’t find their mother, the criminal complaint says. Police said Warren fired a .22-caliber rifle in the basement of their home.

Police said after Warren was in custody they found a loaded .22-caliber rifle, a loaded shotgun and shotgun shells, a loaded .38-caliber handgun and a deer antler pot pipe in the home.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday in Central Court.

He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.

According to the criminal complaint:

Undercover agents arranged to purchase cocaine from McCoy, also known as Jay, at a Main Street tavern on Tuesday. McCoy entered the tavern, sat next to an agent and sold cocaine for $400, the criminal complaint says.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 8 in Central Court.

LARKSVILLE – A Larksville man was charged Wednesday with assaulting several officers during a disturbance at his ex-girlfriend’s residence.

John Zelinski Jr., 29, of West Luzerne Avenue, was charged with three counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, and one count each of resisting arrest and defiant trespass. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
