AVOCA – Fire crews from Avoca, Pittston Township and Duryea responded to a report of a fire at a house at 225 Grove St. just after 10 p.m. Sunday.
Duryea ambulance also responded.
There were no immediate reports of injury or the extent of damage as of presstime on Sunday.
HANOVER TWP. – Police responded to reported vandalism at the Wyoming Valley Country Club, South Main Street, around 8:40 a.m. Saturday.
Club employees reported finding damage that occurred sometime during the nighttime hours, police said. Gutters and a wireless tower, water coolers and hole markers were vandalized.
Police also said a fire was set to a water cooler kiosk and drainage hose. Anyone with information is asked to contact Hanover Township police at 825-1254.
WILKES-BARRE – The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, District Office No. 2, cited Makuch Restaurant Inc., owner of Petey Bones Pizzeria and Restaurant, 312 Main Road, Buttonwood, Hanover Township, with failure to require patrons to vacate later than one-half hour after the required time for the cessation of the service of alcoholic beverages and permitting patrons to possess alcoholic beverages after 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 24.
