Two people surrender to face assault charges Police Blotter

HANOVER TWP. – Township police said Geovanni Johnson and Ann Marie Cruz turned themselves in to police Tuesday on arrest warrants for simple assault and endangering the welfare of children.

The charges against the pair stemmed from an investigation into alleged child abuse that occurred during the summer, police said. Police said the victim was a 6-year-old who was in their care at the time.

Johnson and Cruz were arraigned before District Judge Joseph Halesey, Hanover Township, and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 10 before Halesey.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

Kenneth White, 32, of Philadelphia, suffered head injuries Tuesday in an attack by a group of men and women in the area of 98 S. Main St.

Someone entered Barnes & Noble, South Main Street, and urinated on several articles offered for sale before fleeing around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The value of the merchandise was $701.48.
