SALEM TWP. – A Shickshinny woman was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash on Salem Boulevard (Route 11) on Monday morning.
Police identified the woman as 63-year-old Rosemary Kline.
Police said Kline, driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, was northbound on Salem Boulevard and collided head-on with a 2002 Toyota pickup, driven by Edward Damico, 53, who was traveling south at about 7:35 a.m.
Police said Kline was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Daniel Hincheliff. Damico was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for injuries, police said.
Police said the roadway was closed for nearly six hours as state police assisted township police in the investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Salem Township police at 752-3772.
HARVEYS LAKE – Police charged a man for allegedly stealing a vehicle.
Dustin McCarty, 21, of Harveys Lake, was charged with criminal conspiracy for allegedly taking a vehicle from a Harveys Lake residence on Sept. 8.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 12 before District Judge James Tupper in Trucksville.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
• Joshua Bobeck, of Edwardsville, told city police he was assaulted by a man and a woman in the area of Academy and Elder streets at about 9:40 a.m. Monday.
• William Segarra, 28, of New York City, was arrested around 5:45 p.m. Monday on Hazle Avenue on an outstanding criminal trespass warrant.
• Erica Weber reported around 5:30 p.m. Monday that her vehicle was scratched and the brake light broken while it was parked at 61 Seneca St.
• Matthew Knepp reported around 5 p.m. Monday that a stereo was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 477 N. Washington St.
WILKES-BARRE – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Desiree Kaitlyn Kleis, 18, of Stanton Island, N.Y., with furnishing alcohol to minors.
Police said Kleis purchased beer for a 19-year-old male at a business in South Main Plaza, South Main Street, on Oct. 8.
Kleis was charged with two counts of furnishing alcohol to minors, and one count each of carrying a false identification card and underage purchase of alcohol.
The charges were filed with District Judge William Amesbury in Wilkes-Barre, police said.
LARKSVILLE – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Sant Krupa, doing business as Bull Run Beverage, 548 Washington Ave., with selling alcohol with an expired restaurant license on Sept. 1.
