Mr. and Mrs. Michael McGavin, Hanover Township, announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Kellie Michelle, to David Matthew Wiedlich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wiedlich, Wilkes-Barre.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Catherine Melan, Wilkes-Barre; the late Donald Melan; Marian McGavin, Kingston; and the late John McGavin.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Catherine Calore, Wilkes-Barre; the late Joseph Calore; and the late Fredrick and Mary Wiedlich.
Kellie is a 1998 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2003 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in vocational rehabilitation. She is also a 2005 graduate of the University of Scranton, where she earned a Master of Science degree in school counseling. She is employed as a high school counselor for the Pottstown Area School District.
David is a 1998 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School and a 2002 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree in elementary education. He is also a 2007 graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction and school principal certification. He is employed as an American history teacher and cross country and track and field coach for the Downingtown Area School District.
The couple will exchange wedding vows on Aug. 8 at St. Patrick’s Church, Wilkes-Barre.
