For the first time in its history, the Greater Honesdale Partnership participated in Scranton’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, the second largest in the country, this past Saturday, March 14.Organized and designed by GHP board and supporting members, the Partnership’s float was adorned with balloons, an eight-foot shamrock, welcoming banners and a scale model of the original Stourbridge Lion. The group passed out thousands of Visit Historic Honesdale brochures and special GHP member discounts designed to bring shopping traffic to Honesdale, to the judging area, where they were presented with the Edmund J. Casey Memorial award for Best Historical Theme by parade organizers.
