Vera Rhodes

era J. Rhodes, 76, of Matson Avenue, Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died
Tuesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born July 30, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Frank
and Mary (Tascione) Cardamone. She was a 1943 graduate of Coughlin High
School, worked at Carter Footwear Inc. and was a member of St. Dominic’s
Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; granddaughter, Chelsey
Lynn; sisters, Nellie Cardamone and Rose Burian; and brothers, Michael and
James Cardamone.
Surviving are her daughter, Roxanne Czarniecki, Wilkes-Barre; son, Willard
F., Wilkes-Barre; one grandson; sisters, Mamie Bisulca, Wilkes-Barre; and Mary
Marko, Luzerne; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral
Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St.
Dominic’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
