Ronald Thomas, 72, of Pringle, died August 31, 2010, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was born in Edwardsville, a son of the late Evan (Yant) and Victoria Wallace Thomas. After graduating from Edwardsville High School in 1955, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Norfolk. Prior to his retirement, he had been an iron worker from Local No. 489, Scranton. He was a member of the Bethesda Congregational Church, Edwardsville, where he served as a deacon, financial secretary, choir member and bulletin publisher.
In addition to his wife, the former Rita Costello, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage, he is survived by four daughters, Kelly Rodriguez and her husband, John, Pringle; Kerry Benn and her husband, Mike, Hunlock Creek; Tracy Pisano and her husband, Phil, Larksville; and Shannon Hunt and her husband, Dave, Shavertown; seven grandchildren, Kaylin Rodriguez, who passed away in 2008; Kassie Rodriguez; Philip, Kristin and Alyssa Pisano; Ryan and Brenna Hunt; three sisters, Elizabeth Lamoreaux, Edwardsville; Nancy Newell, Harveys Lake; and Victoria Davenport, West Wyoming; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Sept. 4 from the Bethesda Congregational Church, Edwardsville.. Interment St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.
