We caught up to some volunteers from King’s College and other folks who were picking up litter before today’s Earth Day celebration at Nesbitt Park and asked:
“WHAT DO YOU WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD DO FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?”
“Stop throwing garbage into the river. You’ll find bags of household trash down here.”
Vinnie Cotrone, 48, Kingston
John Maday, Wilkes-Barre
“The biggest thing is to care. A lot of people don’t realize how precious it is. If something’s been around for a long time, they take it for granted.”
Angela Coco, 20, Exeter
“I wish they would think about the repercussions of their actions.”
Terria Pettus, 21, Ocean City, Md.
“Be more cautious about using resources and try to minimize car use. Take a bike or walk for a short trip.”
Nirvana Chand, 21, Montclair, N.J.
