The King’s College Theatre Department will continue its tradition of Shakespeare productions by performing the Bard’s tragedy, “Julius Caesar.” The King’s Players will present the conspiracy against the Roman dictator, his assassination, and its aftermath at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 1, 2, 4 and Oct. 5 in the King’s Theatre.

“Beware the Ides of March.” These famous few words serve as a warning to Julius Caesar, whose friends Cassius and Brutus have hatched a plot to assassinate the Roman Emperor. Blinded by envy or convinced they are acting for the benefit of Rome, Brutus leads his fellow conspirators and murders the ruler leading to civil war and the collapse of the Roman Republic.King’s Theatre Department brings a cast of more than 30 students to the stage.

Cast members include Stephanie Gawlas, Wilkes-Barre (Portia); Andrew St. Clair, Plains (Casca); Drake Nester, Emmaus (Antony); Kevin Stemple, Bethlehem (Caesar); Lukas Tomasacci, Shickshinny (Lepidus); Colin Walsh, Northampton (Brutus); and, Mark Zurek, Mountain Top (Cassius).
