Requirements of the disability act
   
The 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act stipulates all programs, services
and activities provided by a local government or its contractor for the
benefit of the general public must be accessible to the disabledExamples
include:
    City halls, municipal buildings, county courthouses and other facilities
and activities of government agencies.
   
Playgrounds, parks, swimming pools, bookmobiles, mobile health screening
units, polling places and all facilities and sites of government programs and
services.
   
Publicly funded transportation services, trash collection, emergency
medical services, police and fire protection.
   
Roads, parking lots, sidewalks and pathways.
   
Educational courses and examinations offered by government and its
agencies.
   
All modes of communication with the general public.
   
Access to government benefits and public services.

514-0301 or (TDD) (800) 514-0383. Its hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Monday
through Friday, except Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Spanish language
