Wilkes-Barre+Area+School+District%22>Wilkes-Barre Area School District Superintendent Jeff Namey has finished testifying before a grand jury at Federal Court in Scranton.

Namey is among the witnesses testifying today before a grand jury in Federal Court, Scranton. He arrived at the William J. Nealon Federal Building at about 9:30 a.m., carrying a bundle of material under his arm. He acknowledged that he would testify.

Last week the Federal Bureau of Investigation subpoenaed records from Wilkes-Barre Area and from the Wilkes-Barre Vocational-Technical Joint Operating Committee.

Namey confirmed that there is an investigation into the Wilkes-Barre Career Technology Center. "I have some knowledge but I can't comment."

He also confirmed that the FBI interviewed teachers within the Wilkes-Barre Area School Distict within the past few weeks.

He spent about 25 minutes before the panel. "I went in and had to provide some information and that's exactly what I did," he said, declining to describe his testimony further. He was not represented by an attorney.
