Judge pleads guilty in traffic accident

WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Luzerne County Senior Judge Chester Muroski on Tuesday pleaded guilty and paid a fine for citations related to a traffic accident in January on state Route 115 in Bear Creek Township.

Muroski, 70, of Bear Creek Village, was cited by state police at Wyoming with driving too fast for conditions and leaving the roadway after he struck two mailboxes on Jan. 4. Muroski said his vehicle slid on ice.

Muroski said that before the crash he consumed “one, maybe two” drinks at a restaurant in Kingston. He left the scene of the crash when offered a ride home by a passer-by.

Muroski paid $194.50 in fines at the office of District Judge Michael Dotzel in Wilkes-Barre Township, according to court records.
