Sestak hosts shale meeting

DALLAS TWP. – U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, will host a town hall meeting on Marcellus Shale development today.

Sestak will discuss with citizens the steps that should be taken to ensure the vast natural gas energy reserve is developed effectively and in a manner that does not jeopardize residents’ safety or Pennsylvania’s natural resources, according to a press release.

The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. on the third floor of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library at Misericordia University, Lake Street. Attendees should use the north entrance to the campus and turn right into the library parking lot. For a campus map, go to www.misericordia.edu/directions/Map.pdf online.

Sestak, a U.S. congressman from Edgmont Township, Delaware County, is running against Republican Pat Toomey, of Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County, for Arlen Specter’s six-year seat in the U.S. Senate. Sestak defeated Specter in the May Democratic primary.
