Area bands are a tribute to our kids’ talent, hard work

As a band parent from Hanover Area, I feel it necessary to recognize the
tremendous accomplishments of the children of the area as evidenced by the
Chapter 7 Band Competitions which took place in Pittston on Nov. 5Every
parent and every school administrator should have the opportunity to hear and
see the great shows that these bands — 16 in all — put on.

Anyone who appreciates music would be impressed with the effort our
children put into their performances.

School sports seem to get the media limelight, while marching bands seem to
be something that just happens to entertain us during half-time.

Lo and behold, marching bands aren’t what they `used to be!’ This Valley
has some great bands that put on terrific shows. And I’m proud to say that the
Hanover Area Marching Band is one of the best.

Our “band kids” are awesome.
