John Zarno

    John P. Zarno, of Ransom Road, Dallas, died Wednesday evening at his
homeBorn in Pittston, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Olender
Zarno.
   
He resided in Franklin Township most of his life and was a member of St.
Frances X Cabrini Church, Carverton, Kingston Township, and a former member of
the Franklin Township Fire Co.
   
He was employed as a mine worker by various local collieries and also
worked as a carpenter for many years. He worked as a groundskeeper for College
Misericordia, Dallas Township, before retiring.
   
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Alex, Joseph, Edward and
Stanley Zarno; sisters, Sophie Paul, Bertha Prusasky and Helen Ziembroski.
   
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Janet Eaton; a son, John, at
home; a sister, Clara Grauzlis, Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother, Frank, Orange,
Franklin Township; several nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Metcalfe & Shaver
Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, followed by a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Frances X Cabrini Church.
   
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
