Five Wyoming Valley Conference swimmers and three relay teams received at-large time qualifying bids Sunday to the PIAA Swimming & Diving Championships held March 11-14 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg.

They’ll join the 18 individual swimmers and three schools sending relay teams at the state’s biggest aquatics event.

Despite winning the District 2 Class 2A boys championship this weekend, Dallas did not have any swimmers win a district gold needed to secure an automatic berth. The Mountaineers had three swimmers and a 200-medley relay team receive at-large bids to Lewisburg.

Ezra Moore will be appearing in the 500 free following his second-place performance. Brothers Reid and Porter Luksic are two of four District 2 swimmers that will be competing in the 100 breaststroke.

Mikail Krochta, Reid Luksic, Troy Reinert and Connor Motley sent the Mountaineers to states in the 200-medley relay.

Wyoming Seminary’s Nicole Rose Lukesh joins teammate Paige Kupsky at states following a third-place swim in the 100 butterfly. The Blue Knights’ relay of Paige Kupsky, Bailey Disler, Lukesh and Tara Kupsky will appear at states in the 200 medley relay.

Holy Redeemer sophomore Nick Dubinski swam to a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke which punched his ticket to Bucknell. Teammate Connor Thole posted an automatic spot in two events.

Tunkhannock boys 200-free relay of Jacob Skoronski, Mitch Fowler, Trevor Dunning and Stefan Sehne clocked a 1:31.79 that put the Tigers onto the PIAA Class 2A heat sheet. Skoronski won the 100 fly and will compete individually as well.

Wyoming Valley West senior Ed Zawatski garnered the fastest seed time in the Class 3A 50-free field. Zawatski’s district record-breaking time stands 47-hundreths of a second faster than the field.

There were no WVC Class 3A qualifiers in either boys or girls fields.
