On July 24, we stopped in Wilkes Barre overnight on our way to visit my brother. We read that the Seven Tubs Nature Area was beautiful, and the next morning we decided to take what we thought was a 2-mile hike.
We must have taken the wrong trail. After more than two hours of hiking, my legs became harder to move. My wife called 911 for help, and they coordinated with a young man and woman to get my wife and me to the railroad tracks to be picked up by the EMT responders. We were driven back to our car, but I was first checked out and found to be in good shape.
We thank the 911 workers and the Plains Township Fire Department for helping my wife and me in a difficult situation! We also would like to find out the names of the young man and woman who led us out of the woods.
