elen Fender, of Lindbergh Street, Swoyersville, died Sunday at the
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Anna
(Malinowski) Zawacki. She attended Swoyersville schools. She was employed by
The General Cigar Co. She was a member of Holy Name-St. Mary’s Church,
Swoyersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; brothers, Frank and
Albert; sisters, Mildred Zawacki and Stella Krysick.
Surviving are her sister, Nellie Zawacki, at home; numerous nieces and
nephews.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski
Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort. A Mass of Christian Burial will
follow at 10 a.m. in Holy Name-St. Mary’s Church, Swoyersville, with the Rev.
Louis Grippe officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery,
Carverton. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
