Ruth Gonzalez, a regional representative from the Veterans Outreach and
   
Assistance Center, will appear between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. on July 26 at

Vet Center on Wyoming Avenue in ScrantonGonzalez will answer questions and
help veterans and others solve difficulties concerning veteran benefits.
Individuals must possess proof of veteran status or disability.

Myra Dougherty Davis residence located in Harveys Lake.

Ham dinner will be served family-style
   
A Family Style Ham Supper will be held from 5-7 p.m. on July 27 at the
Sweet Valley Fire Hall in Sweet Valley.
   
The menu will include ham, potatoes, green beans, pies, and other foods.
The entrance fee for adults is $6.50 and $3.25 for children.

Yard waste schedule chanced to Monday
   
Sugar Notch has changed its yard waste removal from Friday to Monday
effective July 22. Borough employees will continue to haul the waste.
   
The Disabled American Veterans Anthracite Chapter No. 5 will hold its next
regular meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on July 23 at the American Legion
Post 350 on West Broad Street in Nanticoke.
   
The chapter has changed its monthly meetings from the fourth Monday to the
fourth Tuesday. The group also exchanged the basement meeting room for first
floor meeting rooms.
   
DUPONT
   
Young republican convenes Sunday
   
The Luzerne County Third District Young Republicans will meet at 7:30 p.m.
on July 21 at the Dupont VFW.
   
The group welcomes republicans between the ages of 18-29 who reside in the
third district of Luzerne County

Farmer’s market open each Tuesday
   
The Pittston Farmers Market will be held at Cooper’s Waterfront Seafood
Restaurant’s parking lot at 10 a.m. every Tuesday.
   
The Pittston Farmers Market is held in conjunction with the Pittston Tomato
Festival which will be held on August 22-25.

Wyoming Valley West students photographed at the eighth grade W.V.W. Dinner
Dance can obtain their photographs between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on July 22-23

Annual garage/bake sale coming to area
   
The Wyoming Valley Chapter of Bloomsburg University Alumni Association will
hold its third annual garage/bake sale between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on July 27 on
Pettebone Street in Forty Fort.
   
Household items, books, jewelry, baked goods, and others items will be for
sale during the event which benefits new students at Bloomsburg University.
