The Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania, founded in May 2007 with the merger of four area councils, were honored with a “Good Works” certificate from the Lackawanna County Commissioners for outstanding civic and family activities. Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization with over three million girl and adult members. The agency celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.
Troop 50065 is a shining example of the organization’s “Good Works” through fund raising for various causes utilizing its annual cookie drive, assisting a local family who lost its home to a fire, conducting a “Toys For Tots” drive, and organizing a clothing drive for Kids Klothesline.
