Students from Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and The Commonwealth Medical College, in cooperation with the Advocacy Alliance, will offer an outreach session for community members to learn about and sign up for the Affordable Care Act, commonly called “Obamacare,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilkes.
The event will be in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, located on the first floor of Stark Learning Center. Attendees may park behind the Student Union building at 84 W. South St. Signs with walking directions to the event will be posted from the parking area. Appointments can be made by calling 570-408-4290, but walk-ins are welcome.
Attendees should bring their Social Security numbers or document information for immigrants with satisfactory status, employer and income information for everyone in the family and federal tax information. Attendees can determine their eligibility for tax credits toward premiums and sign up for an insurance plan that day, or just gather information.
