James E. Minton died on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Aria Health Bucks Campus. He was 90.
Born in Corryton, Tenn., Mr. Minton resided in Plains Township and Levittown, Pa. He briefly moved back to Tennessee prior to relocating back to Levittown this year. He was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM Church.
Mr. Minton enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was the owner/operator of Jim’s Barber Shop on Edgley Avenue, Levittown, Pa., for more than 25 years. He was previously employed by General Motors for 15 years.
Mr. Minton is the beloved husband of the late Josephine and loving father of the late Alan.
He is survived by his devoted children James M. (Mary Lee). of Levittown; Gerald J. (Cheryl), of Langhorne, Pa.; and Ronald (Marcie), of Levittown; and his cherished grandchildren, Tina, Michael, Casey, Nick, Sara, Rachel, Michelle, Zachary and Erica. He will also be sadly missed by his five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pa. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 5201 Emilie Road, Levittown, Pa., followed by Rite of Committal in Rosedale Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions in his name to the above-named church would be appreciated by the family.
