Enjoy the clear weather while it lasts — rain is on the way!
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 46 degrees as of 10:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Some clouds are lingering overhead, but most in the Wyoming Valley are able to enjoy the sunshine.
Clouds will continue to accumulate this afternoon. Temperatures should climb to the upper 50s. Cloudy skies are expected into tonight, along with a 70 percent chance of rain. Between a tenth of an inch and a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. The low tonight will be around 42 degrees.
Rain will carry on into Friday, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation predicted. Between a tenth of and a quarter of an inch of rain is expected. Otherwise, cloudy skies are expected with a high near 49 degrees.
The rain will continue on Friday night, mainly before 2 a.m. There will be a 90 percent chance of rain, with up to a quarter of an inch possible. Friday night’s low will drop to 42 degrees.
There will be a chance of showers before 8 a.m. on Saturday — otherwise, partly sunny skies are expected, with a high near 51 degrees. Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Saturday night, with a low around 31 degrees.
Mostly sunny skies are expected on Sunday, with a high in the mid to upper 50s. Skies will begin to cloud over on Sunday night, with a low in the mid 30s.
