MARY K. MCDERMOTT, Factory Street, Luzerne, formerly of Swoyersville, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in Kingston Commons, Kingston. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Ross Sperling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in February 1968 and brother Frederick Sperling Jr. Surviving are daughter Mrs. George (Mary Ann) Spencer, Luzerne; grandchildren Michelle Palmentere, Peter Palmentere and Jennifer O’Borski; great-grandchildren; and sister, sister-in-law, and best friend, Mrs. Betty McDermott, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday from the Kielty-Moran Funeral Home, 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 8:45 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.
