The American Red Cross Donor Center locations will be open Easter Sunday in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton.
Platelets are a key clotting component of blood often needed by cancer patients, and must be transfused within five days of donation.
“It’s important to have a steady supply of platelets on hand,” said Colin Riccobon, communications manager. “There are patients and hospitals that are depending on the generosity and time of donors to make a difference.”
The Wilkes-Barre Donor Center, at 29 New Commerce Blvd. in Ashley, will be open from 7:30 a.m. until noon. The Scranton Donor Center, at 3 W. Olive St., is to be open from 8 a.m. until noon.
