UPDATE: WILKES-BARRE — City police said Thursday a confrontation took place between two men prior to gunfire in the 400 block of North Washington Street Wednesday afternoon.


Police said a 38-year-old man was in a fight with another man who retrieved a handgun from a green sedan at about 2:33 p.m. The suspect fired multiple rounds in the direction of the victim who was not injured.


Police said the victim described the gunman as a black man, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160 to 180 pounds, and wore a blue hooded sweatshirt.


After the shooting, the gunman ran south on North Washington Street.


Police said the victim refused to cooperate.


WILKES-BARRE — City police are investigating a report of shots fired at a home in the 400 block of North Washington Street just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.


A bullet hole was discovered in the windshield of a car parked in front of a North Washington Street home. Police also found at least one shell casing at the site.


No one was reported injured.
