Beginning on Tuesday, April 22 a contractor for PennDOT will begin repaving SR 407 (Abington Rd.) in Clarks Summit. The first section to be completed will be from the intersection of SR 6/11 to Venard Rd.

Work will begin at the intersection of SR 6/11 and during this initial phase, major delays are expected and they will most likely back up onto SR 6/11. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes, such as SR 6/11 to Grove St. to Abington Rd. This section should be completed in less than two weeks, so while there may be some short-term inconveniences, the final product will be a huge improvement to the road.

After the initial section is complete, repaving will continue on Abington Rd. all the way to Waverly. This work is part of a $4.8 million contract that will also repave portions of SR 690, SR 1001 and SR 2010 in the region.
