FOSTER TWP. — The Luzerne County Coroner’s office has ruled that a man found dead Saturday afternoon in his pickup truck died of natural causes, according to Deputy Coroner Tom Moran.

Around 3 p.m. Saturday, an all-terrain vehicle driver traveling on the rural Owl Hole Road had found and reported seeing Ray Keiper, 61, of White Haven inside his Chevrolet pickup truck where it was lodged against a tree, state police said.

It appeared the truck had veered off the gravel road for unknown reasons and into a wooded area where it came to rest against a tree, state police said.

According to state police, Keiper had kept his foot on the accelerator, which caused the vehicle to dig deep into the silt and the tires continued to spin until the truck ran out of gas and shut off.
