EDWARDSVILLE — On Thursday, borough council members tabled a decision on transferring a liquor license from an Ashley bar to III Guys Pizzeria and Restaurant in the borough.

Mark Perlis, owner of III Guys Pizzeria and Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre and Dallas, asked council to allow him to transfer the liquor license from Chick’s Bar in Ashley to his new establishment located in the former Chinese restaurant off Route 11.

Borough attorney William Finnegan Jr. asked Perlis to fill out an application.

“Under the law, we need to have a public hearing on this,” Finnegan said.

Finnegan said that once the application is filled out and returned to him, a resolution will be written and then presented to the council during next month’s public meeting.

In other business, vendors are being accepted for the Edwardsville Pierogi Festival to be held June 14. They can visit Edwardsville Pierogi Festival’s Facebook page.

The next meeting of the council will be at 7 p.m. June 12 in the municipal building.
