It looks like the rain is finally behind us, and mostly sunny skies today and Sunday should make the remainder of the Fine Arts Fiesta a more enjoyable destination.
It was a crisp 48 degrees just before 7 a.m. today at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport in Avoca, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, but the temperature is expected to climb nearly 20 degrees by later this afternoon, with a high of 66 forecast.
It will be a welcome change for both organizers and attendees of the annual festival on Public Square, which had a delayed start on Friday because of the downpours.
Some clouds will stay with us tonight, with an overnight low of 43 forecast, but the sun will return and spend the days with us all the way through Tuesday before a chance of showers returns Tuesday night and Wednesday, the NWS predicts.
This week’s temperatures will gradually increase as midweek approaches, with highs in the low 70s.
If you plan enjoy this weekend’s weather at the Fine Arts Fiesta, it runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
