WEST PITTSTON — A former employee at a pizzeria accused with stealing $1,425.80 from the restaurant in March and April waived her right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Carmody on Wednesday.

Lori Ann Deyo, 41, of Nanticoke, waived charges of theft and receiving stolen property to Luzerne County Court.

West Pittston police allege Deyo while employed as an assistant manager at Tomato Heads Pizzeria on Wyoming Avenue voided food orders and removed money from the cash register from March 10 to April 28, according to the criminal complaint.

Deyo allegedly admitted to the thefts, telling police she needed money to pay for utility bills, car repairs, sports equipment and traffic fines, the complaint says.
