WILKES-BARRE — Judge Fred Pierantoni III on Friday scheduled a hearing on June 6 to hear a request by double homicide suspect Hugo Selenski’s lawyers to continue the November trial until 2015.
Attorney Bernard J. Brown filed a motion earlier this week seeking to delay the trial claiming when he was appointed by the court to defend Selenski, the trial would be scheduled in 2015.
Pierantoni at a pre-trial hearing on May 7 scheduled the trial to begin on Nov. 12.
Brown replaced Attorney Shelley Centini, who was removed from the case in February when she, Selenski, and private investigator James Sulima were charged by the state Office of Attorney General with intimidating five prosecution witnesses.
Selenski is charged with the flex tie strangulation killings of Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett in May 2002.
