WILKES-BARRE — A city woman was arraigned Friday on charges she had stolen a laptop computer she traded for drugs and men’s T-shirts and socks.
Ruthann Publik, 32, of Hutson Street, was charged by city police with separate counts of retail theft. She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 total bail.
City police allege Publik had stolen a laptop computer from the South Main Trading Post pawn shop on South Main Street on May 9, and traded the computer for drugs, according to the criminal complaint.
Publik was arrested Thursday after she allegedly had stolen $62 worth of men’s T-shirts, tank tops and socks from Dollar General, South Main Street, the complaint says.
