The weekend is shaping up to be a sunny one for the Wyoming Valley — gray skies and the possibility of rain, however, will stick around until at least Saturday.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 52 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport as of 6:54 a.m. Overcast skies lingered overhead, making for a gray morning.
It looks like it will be a quiet day today, with mostly cloudy skies and a high in the mid 60s. No rain is forecasted for today, but a slight chance of showers is possible tonight after midnight. Tonight’s low will drop to the lower 50s.
There will be another chance for rain on Friday after 4 p.m. — otherwise, partly sunny skies are expected. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible. Friday’s high will reach the lower 70s.
The rain should taper off before 7 p.m. on Friday night, giving way for partly cloudy skies. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible on Friday night. Friday night’s low will dip into the upper 40s.
