The Lackawanna Blind Association has been doing “Good Works” in the community since 1912. The Lackawanna County Commissioners honored the agency for its support of the blind and visually impaired in the community. The organization offers its clients an audio book club, recreation, exercise classes, homebound services, reduced-fee eyeglasses and much more. Annually, the Blind Association screens 1,780 preschool children and adults for vision problems and conducts safety programs in area school districts.
