DUNMORE –A planned road closure in Moosic has been delayed so officials can analyze the response of emergency responders on the roadway.

Route 3019 (Lonesome Road) in Moosic was originally planned to be closed today. PennDOT spokesman James May said in a news release that the only access point to many homes in the area is over a railroad track that carries up to fourteen trains per day.

As a result, PennDOT is conducting an analysis of the county-owned bridge on Main Street to see if emergency responders could cross that bridge in the event of an emergency if Lonesome Road is closed. The analysis will take approximately one week, and coordination will then be made with all the emergency responders in the area.
