SUGARLOAF TWP. — A man from Ohio was killed when he lost control of a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle that struck a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 Friday morning.

State police at Hazleton identified the man as 22-year-old Kyle Ripperger, of Maineville.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the on-ramp from state Route 92 at about 10:25 a.m.

State police said Ripperger failed to negotiate a turn on the ramp and lost control of the motorcycle, which traveled into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 striking a tractor-trailer.

Ripperger was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Jeff Stock.
