On Thursday, July 3, Lackawanna County, The City of Scranton, Entercom Communications, The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and Prudential will once again be sponsoring Scrantastic Spectacular, a full day of free activities around Courthouse Square, including a free performance by The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic and Firework Display from the Casey Garage.

The day kicks off at 4 p.m. with entertainment and vendors. The Philharmonic plays at 7:30 p.m. with the Fireworks set to go off at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Below is the street closure information for the event. Cars will not be allowed to park on the following streets and may be towed if not moved by the times listed.


Wednesday, July 2, at 9 a.m.

North Washington Avenue will be shut down from Linden Street to Spruce Street so that the stage can be set up in front of the Federal Courthouse Building.

Thursday, July 3, at 9 a.m.

North Washington Avenue from Linden Street to Spruce Street

Linden Street from Wyoming Avenue to Adams Avenue

Spruce Street from North Washington Avenue to Adams Avenue

Adams Avenue will have one lane open for through traffic. The side closest to the Lackawanna County Courthouse will be shut down.

At 5 p.m.

North Washington Avenue from Mulberry Street to Linden Street will be shut down.
