WILKES-BARRE — The board of Hawkeye Security Solutions today approved the hiring of Parente Beard Accountants to prepare financial documents necessary for the eventual dissolution of the non-profit corporation overseeing the camera surveillance system throughout the city.

The no bid contract is not to exceed $15,000, said board member Greg Barrouk, who also serves as deputy city administrator.

The firm was recommended by attorney John Aciukewicz, whom the board hired last December to dissolve the corporation, Barrouk said.

Board chairman Frank Majikes said he could not provide a time frame for the city takeover.

“It’s tough to give you a date because of the process,” Majikes said.
