PLAINS TWP. — Three men were arrested Saturday at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Casino on theft and forgery charges after state police accused them of passing counterfeit $100 bills.

State police allege Emery Lance Memminger, 35, and Michael George Turner, 21, both of Tobyhanna, and Andrew Junior Turner, 26, of Allentown, along with one other unnamed suspect worked together to spend the fake money.

Shortly after they started the state police officers assigned to the casino found Memminger had with him nine fake $100 bills, state police said.

While state police were questioning Memminger, the Turners left the casino on foot, but were captured nearby soon after leaving.

The three men were arraigned before district Judge Alexandra Kokura-Kravitz on felony theft and forgery charges, state police said.

Each were locked up in Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail each, state police said.

State police believe the men passed a total of $4,400 in fake bills during their brief run at the casino. The men were found to have more than $3,300 in genuine cash, which was seized by state police as evidence, they said.
