SWOYERSVILLE — Kingston Police arrested a woman from Shickshinny on charges she stabbed her boyfriend while he was driving through Pringle late Monday night.

Heather Lynn Muchler, 29, was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla on two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault, reckless endangerment and possession of an offensive weapon. She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.

Kingston police allege Muchler stabbed Jens Sebastian Brandenstein in the upper stomach at about 11:15 p.m. while they were driving on North Street in Pringle, according to the criminal complaint. Muchler said to reporters she defended herself because she was tired of being beaten up by her boyfriend. Muchler claimed she pulled the knife from her purse and stabbed Brandenstein in the stomach, she told reporters.

Police said Brandenstein was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment for his injuries.
