LUZERNE COUNTY — A heavy storm swept into the region from the West this afternoon bringing rain and gusting wind, and potential road hazards along with it.

Multiple trees and wires are down throughout the county, according to police scanner chatter.

Emergency workers posting to the Luzerne County Fire Companies Facebook page report trees are down along Lakeside Drive at poles 228 and pole 1.

There is also water creating potentially flooding Route 309 near Kunkle Fire Department in Dallas Township, first responders said over the scanner.

In Nanticoke, emergency workers wrote in Facebook posts that wires are down on West Noble Street.

Crews collaborated on the page indicating traffic could be delayed in Shickshinny, Huntington Township, Plymouth Township, Jackson Township, Dallas Township.
