WILKES-BARRE — One suspect was arrested and a second wanted for questioning Tuesday following a state police narcotics unit raid at two Scott Street residences, where 1,779 packets of heroin valued at about $35,580, one handgun and $9,000 were seized. State Police at Wyoming reported Tuesday evening that the Troop P Vice/Narcotic Unit, along with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department Anti-Crime Unit, simultaneously searched the rental units at 960 Scott St. and 1164 Scott St at about noon. The search was a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation, police said. Juleisy Bienida Abreu Peralta, 20, Wilkes-Barre, was taken into custody, and Christian Carabalo-Rodriguez, 29, Wilkes-Barre, who had fled prior to the raid, is wanted for questioning, according to police. Two infants were in one of the residences at the time along with a teenager, police said but did not specify which residence. Wilkes-Barre City Code Enforcement shut down both of the rental units, the report stated. Assisting in this investigation were numerous members of Wilkes-Barre Police Department, Troop P Wyoming Patrol, Troop P Wyoming Crime Unit and PSP K9.
