A Bucks County man drowned in Lake Carey early this morning after he fell out of a boat.

Paul Hubner, 56, of Quakertown was pulled from the lake after a 9 1/2 hour search led that included dive teams from five departments, according to Wyoming County Coroner Eric Kukuchka.

Kukuchka said Hubner was on the back of a boat with several others to watch fireworks during the small community’s Lake Carey Days festival.

After the fireworks display ended, Hubner fell off the back of the boat and those remaining in the boat could not rescue him in time, Kukuchka said. This happened shortly after 12:20 a.m.

Hubner was recovered around 10:40, Kukuchka said. An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday.
