WILKES-BARRE — Luzerne County inmate Kevin Kuklinski’s freedom on the run was short lived.
Kuklinski, 24, was captured Friday morning by Ashley police, county Correctional Division Director J. Allen Nesbitt confirmed.
Kuklinski was returned and jailed in the main correctional complex.
He escaped from the minimal offender’s building at about 11:15 a.m. that initiated a massive manhunt on land and on the Susquehanna River that involved rescue boats.
Kuklinski was the second inmate to escape from the same facility within the last five weeks.
Luis Miguel Felciano, 29, of Wilkes-Barre, escaped by climbing the fence on June 28. He was captured 10 days later in the area of East Northampton Street and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard in Wilkes-Barre on July 8.
