Rain and fog blanket the region this morning with light winds and a chance for precipitation around 40 percent for the rest of the day.

High temperatures today are projected at their lowest all week, not expected to break 73 degrees for the region. Lows are likely to sink around 57 degrees tonight.

The National Weather Service says fog will return tonight into Sunday morning — dissipating before 10 a.m. and bringing in the new week with mostly sunny skies and a high near 78 degrees.

When many students are on their way back to school, the weather, at this point, looks mostly clear and sunny with the highest temps of the week arriving on Wednesday at 86 degrees.

Thunderstorms could show up on Thursday, but the chance for rainfall remains low at 30 percent.
