    Cops seek suspect
   
in store robbery
   

   

   
Police are looking for a suspect who walked into a city convenience store
and stole an undisclosed amount of cash Sunday night.
   
The man entered the Uni-Mart on Middle Road and demanded money from the
clerk, police said. The suspect fled the store by running south on Espy Street
and got into a parked vehicle, police said. He drove away, continuing in the
same direction, at about 7:37 p.m., police said, adding that the vehicle was
described as having a loud muffler.
   
The man is described as a white male, in his late 20s to early 30s and
about 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was wearing a green hood over his head, a
blue-and-white Woolrich jacket and blue jeans.

Restaurant robbery under investigation
   

   
Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a township restaurant
over the weekend.
   
Police on Sunday confirmed that the Half Circle Barbecue restaurant, 155
West End Road, was robbed, but declined to give further details.
   
Anyone with information about the robbery should contact police at

Man faces charges in assault of wife
   

   

   
Police arrested a borough man Saturday night after they say he assaulted
his wife.
   
Donald Kraph, 2053 Main Road, was arrested on charges of simple assault and
harassment for striking his wife, Janice Kraph.
   
Police said Kraph hit his wife in the face with a closed fist during an
incident at their home at about 8:15 p.m.
   
Police said Janice Kraph sustained marks to her face, neck, shoulder and
wrist as a result of the incident.

2-vehicle collision sends 2 to hospital
   

   

   
Two people were injured Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Airport
Beltway, police said.
   
Police said Ron Stone of Weatherly was taken by helicopter to Geisinger
Medical Center in Danville where he was treated and released. Luz Viera of
Hazleton was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken arm.
   
Stone, who police said was traveling at a high rate of speed, was heading
east on Airport Beltway when his vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by
Viera.
   
Police said Viera was traveling west on Airport Beltway and was struck by
Stone’s vehicle when she attempted to turn left into the Wal-Mart parking lot.
   
No further information was released by police on Sunday.
